10/20/13

We had another very relaxed day and spent it together mostly at home. Ari and Sori feel a lot more secure when Eli is home and upbeat. As much as they don’t fully understand the situation you can feel it in the air just from them when Eli isn’t home or isn’t feeling well. We look forward to 2 more weeks beezrat hashem of being home and enjoying the time together before we head back to CHLA for round 4 of 7 of immunotherapy.

Elimelech Ben Basya lrefua shelayma bsoch shaar choley ysiroel amen.

10/19/13

BH we had a most relaxing enjoyable Shabos and we are looking forward to the same for the week. Eli made it to shul and got out many times for fresh air even going on Motzei Shabos to the learning program.

Please continue having Elimelech Ben Basya in all your tefilos etc. A GUT VOCH

10/18/13

Keep em coming this way. Another great day for Eli who went to school for a 2nd full day and came home very happy. He felt, seemed and looked stronger then yesterday and beezrat hashem that trend will continue.

This afternoon Eli reached a milestone that 11 months ago felt like it would take forever to get to. He got his first haircut and he felt so good about it.

FYI I sent a email yesterday regarding the group running for Chai Lifeline “team Eli” I’m sorry that you can’t click on the email version and you need to go to the actual website www.eligradon.com to be able to reach the link. Tizku lmitzvos.

Please continue to daven for Elimelech Ben Basya that we should be zoche to continue with only besuros tovos. A GUT SHABOS

10/17/13

We got what we hoped for today from Eli which is that he lasted a full day at school. Its the first real full day he has had in nearly a year and beezrat hashem the beginning of many more. The plan is for him to be in school for the full short Friday as well.

BH Eli continues to show that he’s gaining strength and we couldn’t be happier. Like we have said since day one “one day at a time”.

Please continue davening for Elimelech Ben Basya that we should be zoche to see this continue.

SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT

For the last few months a group of our close friends have been arranging to join Chai Lifelines marathon taking place in Florida on 2/2/14. They have already 12+ people just on the “team Eli” group along the many others that run for Chai Lifeline. To do so every runner goes through MONTHS of rigorous training which they have all began doing already. This is one of the bigger fundraisers for Chai Lifeline who anyone who has ever needed their services knows how vital they are when a family member is going through a illness. And for those who BH haven’t had a sick family member and beezrat hashem will never have should know that they are simply a lifeline. Always there and always thinking about what they can do to take their chesed to the next level.

Our family will forever be makir tov to them for what they have done for us and continue to do. Every runner that signs up is essentially pledging $3600 to join the CL team. Aside from the training they do they must also raise the $$. On the link below there is a team Eli page which shows how much together the team has raised but you can click on each persons name and donate directly to their pledge. We beezrat hashem hope as a family to be there together with Eli who will be pushed in a wheelchair/stroller by one of the runners during the marathon

I look at this as a insurance plan that hopefully your donation should chas vshalom never be used towards your family or anyone you know but for us its the ultimate lifeline. Again I ask that anyone that can should please donate whatever they can “every dollar counts”. If you can donate $5 great if you can do more even better. If you can fully sponsor a runner would be amazing. There is also nothing wrong with a runner more then fulfilling their pledges for this great and worthy cause.

Anyone wishing to join the team should please email Ayalaback@gmail.com and anyone wishing to donate should please go to this link http://www.teamlifeline.org/myteam.php?myid=88

All I can say simply is “tizku lmitzvos”

Eli had a great day today. He was up on time got to school on time and was given the honor by his rebbi Rabbi Weiner to be the chazan which he really enjoyed. He was meant to be in school until 230 today but at 11AM I received a call from Chai Lifeline that someone generously donated amazing seats to the dodger game which I couldn’t resist. So I picked up Eli early from school and we went and thoroughly enjoyed the entire game.

Beezrat hashem on Thursday Eli will spend the whole day in school which he has only done once since being diagnosed. We hope that he will have the strength to do it and that it will become a regular thing as often as possible.

Please continue davening for Elimelech Ben Basya that everything should go and continue to go as easily and as quickly as possible.

10/15/13

As each day passes bli ayin hora Eli shows more and more improvement. It takes a good few days after being in the hospital for a week to recover and for him to get back to himself. We are gradually getting Eli back into school for as long as he can handle. Monday he was there until 12 and today he was there until 1:30 and the hope for Wed is for him to be there until 2:30 until he can handle a full day.

Hopefully this trend will only continue and pick up speed. Eli has also gained a few pounds and beezrat hashem that will also move along as much as possible. IYH sometime this week Eli will have his first haircut in nearly 11 months!!

Please continue having Elimelech Ben Basya in mind in all your tefilos so that we can reach the goals ASAP and ultimate goal of a refua shelayma.

10/14/13

Eli made it to school for the first time since right before Rosh Hashana and he lasted as long as we had hoped for which was until lunch time. He was picked up at that point to head to CHLA for a scheduled DR appointment to make sure his blood levels are up to par where they need to be to continue taking accutane. BH the #s were good and Eli is now back on accutane for the next 2 weeks.

The next scheduled round of immunotherapy isn’t until Nov 3rd and we hope that Eli will continue making progress every day in his physical strength and weight before then. After the next round of immunotherapy Eli will have the regular scans to bli ayin hora make sure things are still all clean.

The hope for Tuesday is that Eli will have enough strength to either make it through a full day with his class or a good part of it. He was welcomed back with welcome back cards from his classmates and enjoyed reading each and every note.

As always please keep Elimelech Ben Basya bsoch shaar choley yisroel in all your tefilos etc

10/13/13

Eli spent the day at home relaxing and getting to know the new hamster we got for Aris birthday. Hopefully this was enough rest so that Eli will have the strength to last through the morning on Monday at school. The goal is to send him until about 1PM at which time he needs to head back to CHLA to make sure his blood levels are good enough to start accutane again for a 2 week period.

Please as always continue having Elimelech Ben Basya in mind in all your tefilos

10/12/13

Eli enjoyed the entire Shabos from start to end. He got to shul for all tefilos and was happy to be back where he belongs. He enjoyed the seudos and just being in his own bed. Shabos afternoon a few of Elis friends came to play and hang by our house which really lifted him up as well.

Eli continues to show daily improvements in many areas that are BH very encouraging. We hope that he will physically be up to being back in school this week as much as possible.

Other then a follow up DR appt on Monday we look forward beezrat hashem to a restful quiet week at home for Elimelech Ben Basya bsoch shaar choley yisroel. A GUT VOCH
